“Work without love is like sewing with a needle and no thread”
Josemaría Escrivá

Hi, business owner! I’m Pamela, a business advisor. The sentence above says a great deal about me, but you probably want to learn more — right?

Well, my friends, family, and clients claim that I’m an excellent listener. In contrast, it has always been difficult for me to talk about myself. In my opinion, it’s important that my clients, friends, and acquaintances tell you how I am as a person and a professional. All things considered, their input will give you insights into what I can do for you. In addition, they’ll share how I stand out as a business advisor.

Before the praise begins, I’d like to introduce myself to you. I hope you find what you are looking for.

I am half-Italian and half-Colombian, which means I am twice Latina!

I’ve been living in Canada for nearly 4 years. In addition, I have served as a business advisor for about 6 years. My objective is to help small businesses and startups grow.

I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Medellin (UDEM) in Communication and Corporate/Public Relations, with an emphasis in International Business. I also earned a Diploma in Business Plans from the same university.

As a native Spanish speaker with a sound grasp of the way Latinos do business, I will serve as your trusted ally. If your goal is to penetrate the market in Latin America, I will help you find suppliers and promote your business.

These are my mottos:

If I am going to take a job, it is because I think I will enjoy it. This connects to my next one:

Love what I do, or don’t do it.

I will focus on you and your business, keeping in mind the results you anticipate.

I will help you increase sales and profit, reduce costs, minimize your stress, and support you in general. In other words, I will help you grow your business and make your life easier.

I WILL LISTEN, REALLY LISTEN TO YOU!

This is what you can expect if you hire me as your business advisor:

business advisor

Go there and beyond

While others focus on services  such as marketing, financial analysis, HR, and business plans, I will focus on you. Simply put, I am a business advisor who will help you get to where you want to be. That being said, I will accompany you on your journey until you get there and exceed all targets.

business advisor

Get strong

I will leverage your strengths to make you even stronger. As a result, I’ll be your right-hand woman and help you overcome your weaknesses. I will also help you understand that you need to manage all aspects of your business in order to succeed. I mean, if you are super-creative, have a unique product, and love to design, that’s amazing — but you also need to know (or have people who know) how to sell and manage the business. That is, unless you want to keep your goldmine a secret.

No Unnecessary Brochures

I will never sell you anything you don’t need. Rather, I’ll communicate with you directly and address what you think you need to do to succeed. I won’t offer anything unnecessary for the sake of making money.

No magic formulas

Your business is special, and as such, I’m not going to waste your time talking about magic formulas, I will listen to you and find unique ways to take you where you want to be.

Okay, now I’m going to let others introduce me to you:

Okay, now I’m going to let others introduce me to you:

“Ivido is a jeans company. Our retail store is at Robson Street, Vancouver. For more than two years, Pamela has worked not only as my business consultant, but I would also say as my personal adviser. The results we have gotten have been very positive.

With her knowledge, intuition and business intelligence, Pamela has boosted Ivido’s financial performance by increasing profit margins and sales. At the same time, Pamela has helped us cut unnecessary costs and expenses, create and implement new distribution and expansion strategies, and improve the performance of debt management.

In addition, Pamela possesses the rare skill of really listening to her clients and being able to communicate her ideas and their associated benefits effectively.

Besides, Pamela has conducted a very important franchise negotiation, which has had amazing outcomes. Furthermore, her eye for detail has helped us to implement better business practices that have made our organization more efficient and profitable. We are convinced that those achievements are largely a result of Pamela’s efforts. She is worth every penny.”

Ivis Gonzales

Director, Designer & Founder, Ivido Brand Jeans, Ivido Brand Jeans

“For four months, Pamela worked as a contractor in the creation of my Business Project to import food products, acting as the exclusive Canadian distributor of a Mexican company. She, as a business advisor, is nothing but professional.

Pamela demonstrated not only her technical skills, but her soft skills too (research, data analysis, critical thinking, project management, communication, decision-making, confidentiality, and respect). She delivered on schedule and with high quality.

Pamela’s qualities and work ethic underpinned her work. I would highly recommend her as a business advisor and also for any project that involves complex and far-reaching requirements.”

Rosario Correa

Director & Founder, Selvas Globales Fair Trade Inc.

“Pamela helped us understand what we needed to do in order to take Me Quito el Sombrero to the next level.

She ripped apart an idea that would have wasted months of our time and a lot of money, and helped us figure out what needed to be done in terms of marketing and digital marketing in order to achieve our goals.

Her advice will be worth well over $10,000, and that was just over two meetings and a few phone calls.”

Edna Rojas

Owner, Me Quito el Sombrero

“Pamela has a charming personality and go-getter attitude! I met Pamela back in March 2013, when she started helping as Business Development Associate for Carnaval del Sol. This is the biggest Latin American festival in the Pacific Northwest. She successfully ran a sales campaign and was able to implement many great strategies to attract sponsors and vendors.

Her second project with us was with ExpoPlaza Latina, a major series of seminars promoting trade and education between Latin America and Canada. Pamela helped us research speakers and create new strategies to bring attendees to this event.

I was very pleased to work with Pamela, and I am positive that she will invest her best in any project she engages with.”

Paola Murillo

Founder & Executive Director, Latincouver

“Pamela has given me the opportunity to grow my business. When we first met, we discussed ways of better promoting my magazine and getting more subscribers. My budget was almost zero, but Pamela took the time to listen and then came up with workable strategies to move my business forward.

She’s sharp, and I’m blown away by her insight, dedication, and willingness to work with me to find a way to get results.

I am now working with her and her team, preparing for JamaicanEats Magazine to launch its first cookbook as a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.”

Grace Cameron

Principal, JamaicanEats magazine

“I met Pamela in 2013, and have had the opportunity to work with her and also become her friend. As a person, she is outgoing, sincere, and loves to enjoy her time. Professionally speaking, she is reliable, hard working, and diligent. She pays attention to details and will apply herself to do the proper diligence when needed on projects. I highly recommend working with her, as she is able to get the job done when needed.”

Wallace Murray

Principal Associate, Wallace Murray & Associates

“I had the pleasure of working with Pamela to help us translate and localize our brochures and presentation for a trade mission to South America. Pamela was very detailed and provided us with many recommendations and feedback to ensure that our material was suitable for the different countries that we were visiting. She was able to complete the project under a very tight timeline and on budget. I highly recommend Pamela as a consultant and look forward to working with her again.”

I am not your standard business advisor! I genuily listen.

In the past, you may have worked with business consultants who claimed they could help you. However, when they met with you, it was clear that they cared more about making money than they did about your problems. Does that sound familiar?

Actually, that’s why they met with you in the first place. I’m sure they talked about how good they are, what their consulting system involves, and their services — BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. If you say you need something and they offer that service, they won’t hesitate to send you a quote. Why? Well, the answer is obvious: MONEY, MONEY, MONEY.

What they don’t realize is that if they focus on you and your business, you will see results and be a happier customer, which translates to more money in their pocket.

I remember once I was contacted by two entrepreneurs. They have an online magazine and wanted to take the next step and start selling advertisement space. They needed my company to help them set their sponsorship and advertisement packages as well as design their brochure. Once we met for the first time I started asking them as many questions as possible, which gave me a lot of information about their business and themselves.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE! I realized they were about to make a huge mistake spending their money in something they didn’t need!

In other words, they were looking for something that was not going to take them to where they wanted to be. Instead, they first needed to attract way more traffic to their website and target the right market to boost their subscribers list; if they didn’t do that at front, they would through out their money in the garbage creating a brochure and advertisement packages they will never were going to sell. And if I hadn’t taken the time to really listen to them I would have done what many consultants and free lancers do: ask basic information about the company, send a quote, follow up and take the job.
